Norcold Thermistor Assembly 636658/ 618548 Dave Carter 50665 (replaces the 620871)
This is the current thermistor for all Norcold 1200 models, the 1210, N1095, N6XX models, N8XX models, 900/ 9000 models as well as the 2117. "Thermistor" = thermostat. Any numbers or letters after the model numbers are not important for this part. The thermistor has a 4 prong connector that will snap into the light fixture located up at the light bracket. The other end clips to the 2nd fin from the right hand side for 1200, 1210, and N1095 models. All other models will have it connecting to the 10th fin from the right hand side.

Exactly what was needed
My fridge was freezing food and the suggestions here resolved the problem, thermostat connected to the light.

the replacement part 636658 works for 1200LRIM, install was easy, and both refrigerator/freezer maintain temperatures for the past 3 days since install. I just wish the Norcold was a better-built unit that didn't have constant failures/bypasses [like the ill-conceived High Temperature Sensor (prompted the recall), which constantly fails everytime water blows in through the airvents, and for which Norcold refuses to allow replacements other than going to a Norcold-authorized service center, which are few and far between).
