Norcold Has Discontinued The DE0061 (Here are your options!)

Norcold has discontinued the DE0061 AC/DC refrigerator. This isn't a huge shock in the RV space since many of it's components had already been discontinued. Due to the few replacement parts still in production, we highly recommend upgrading your refrigerator rather than fix it (depending on what is broken).
Just about everything on it is discontinued and so you should think of all fixes and simple bandaids to put on it until something crucial fails. The good news is that there is a new Norcold model with very close dimensions that would fit in the same hole that your old DE0061 currently sits in. The model is the:
Norcold N2175 (now let's talk about the differences below)
The Norcold N2175 is a DC ONLY refrigerator but there are a lot of good reasons for that. If you have a battery charger in your RV, meaning that your batteries charge when you plug into shore power, then there is no reason to have an AC option on the refrigerator. The shore power charges your batteries and the refrigerator continues to run on DC without a need to transfer power. This means less moving parts to service and in our opinion, a longer lifespan.
The other change is in dimensions. This model is slightly smaller than the DE0061 and so you may need to do a little cabinetry work to make it flush. The dimensions of the N2175 are:
Height: 49.2" (DE0061 is 52 7/8")
Width: 20.7" (DE0061 is 23 1/4")
Depth: 23.7" (DE0061 is 23 3/4")
