Every Norcold refrigerator has a specific power board and optical board. They are completely proprietary with eachother because they need to communicate back and forth. This kit will work on any N82X/N62X model refrigerator that has an obsolete optical board assembly. This is determined by the serial number located on a decal inside the refrigerator box. If your serial number is below 9126825, this is the kit you need. If your serial number is above 9126825, you need:

Can't Adjust Temperature N822RT / We are working good now !
I wanted to adjust the temperature of the refrigerator, when I tried the display would go to "1" then "8". This happens when I try to adjust the temperature or change the mode. Other then that the refrigerator works perfectly and switches between gas and electric also fine. I received this "kit" and followed some included instructions and we are working great now. We received this in a couple of days with standard shipping.

Good Product
Really great company to work with. I've ordered with Norcold Guy before they changed websites. They've always had really quick shipping and great product knowledge. I ordered this kit because of a power board problem I was having. The old power board was more expensive than this kit, so THEY recommended I get it to upgrade them. Glad I did. Instrcutions were not too tough to follow. It took me about a half hour to do the install.

Need more info!
Hooked everything up as described. After hooking everything up our N821 would throw a ( d ) code showing door was open to long to open and close door didn't cure problem. Frig would not let me switch from Electric to gas manually. It also would not let me change temp settings. Called on a friend who is a norcold repair man. He had to call service tech from Norcold. Which found out had to CUT PURPLE wire from harness behind control panel to fix problem. Everthing works great now. Should have added some suggestions on trouble shooting certain problems. *this is only on old models and there is no known serial number break for the issue but you are right! When experiencing the above, assuming you have the right board kit, your next step is to snip the purple wire from the optical board plug coming from the refrigerator. - The Norcold Guy

Thanks!
Thank you to NorcoldGuy for getting me this kit in a very timely manner at a great price. The part was packaged really well and had installation instructions. I got it put together fairly quickly (30 minutes). Front board is a lot quicker than the rear. The connections are a bit tedious to make sure they go back correctly. Not too difficult.

Fine Service, Great Pricing, Nice Bundle - PROBLEM SOLVED
I purchased a new trailer in the fall of 2014 from a dealer that was "inconvenient" for me to actually get to in terms of getting warranty work done.. One of my issues was a N821R that would simply fail to light (running on propane) at high elevations (5200ft) and perhaps cold.. But down in the valley where I live and where the dealer is, works perfect. Put up with it for two years and finally had ENOUGH when it failed SOLIDLY (or so I thought) during a week long trip to Nevada.. After I got home? Lit right up and stayed running again. I was so mad I didn't know what to do - so I grabbed the "figurative" shotgun and fired away.. I replaced EVERYTHING that had to do with controlling or igniting the propane, that included the gas valve and a new trailer propane regulator and the very nice "matched kit" ignitor and control board.. Total cost - just over $250. Which I consider QUIT REASONABLE. I am VERY HAPPY. I installed all the components with only little difficulty - the trailer service opening isn't quite optimal, lit the thing up and ran it solid for over two months. That included three trips over 5500 feet, and temps in the twenties Fahrenheit. Never once the dreaded "F" when I got up in the morning. I also ordered the online diagnosis, which we both admitted didn't add any actual value to my approach, and as my problem was sort of outside the "specified range" (4500 ft?) all I could do was live with it. Which was hard to hear as I have a friend with a similar trailer and the IDENTICAL refrigerator. We camp together a lot. Mine would fail. His would not. After we agreed he wasn't going to be of direct help, they very kindly refunded me the money in a prompt and no hassle sort of way that left me feeling very good and VERY willing to do business with them again. End result, I'm VERY happy - my refrigerator works perfectly and I feel like I got a good bargain all around.. If you have that dreaded "intermittent" symptom like I did, I highly recommend just taking the plunge and get your shotgun out..
