Troubleshooting

Potential problems that a new ac heater/ heating element could solve:

  • N611 or N811 red light flashing three times
  • N621 or N821 displaying an "n" code
  • N641 or N841 displaying "ac he" code
  • No cooling on AC mode
  • Insufficient cooling on AC mode

Installation

Time: 30 minutes or less

Tools:

  • PB Blaster (optional)
  • Rubber mallet (optional)
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Gloves

Steps:

  • Turn refrigerator off for several hours to let things cool down on and around the cooling unit
  • Unplug refrigerator from the AC outlet in the back and turn refrigerator off from front control panel
  • Remove power board cover
  • Take a picture of the board before disconnecting AC wires
  • AC heater wires are labeled AC HT HI and AC HT LO (both leads are interchangeable)
  • Follow the wires over to the flu
  • The AC Heating rod drops down into a slot on the flu that is buried within the insulation.
  • Remove tin shroud that is holding insulation around the flu and locate the AC heater/ AC heating element
  • If the AC heater does not slide out easily, you may need to use PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench to break up corrosion. Gently tap with a rubber mallet and it should come out just fine.
  • Slide new AC heater into the old slot and connect its wires in place of the old.
  • Once everything is connected, turn refrigerator on and plug it back in to verify that there is no AC heater fault displayed.

Have not put it on as my RV is out having body work done on it, but I liked the price and it came right away, what more could you ask for.
