Besides being stupid and shocking myself the installation went well. It worked immediately.

The new board slipped right in place of the old board and it fired the unit on the first try. The fridge has never worked so well on gas.

I rated this part 4-stars because the do-it-yourselfer expects replacement parts to work well, which this one does The only installation difficulty was changing the cover from the old board to the new board, as the cover had been designed not to be removed. I diagnosed the problem with the help of Bob Livingstone's RV Repair and Maintenance Manual, building on substantial personal experience with auto electric systems and minimal knowledge of how a gas fridge works. (This manual is available from Good Sam.) An online guide would have been nice, but likely I am expected to use the Norcoldparts.com for-fee advisory service. Also, keep in mind that Norcoldparts.com was the only supplier I found online with parts for a 20-year old fridge.

Trying to figure out why my fridge won't light, or relight. I replaced the Spark Sense Electrode and that didn't do the trick. Any other ideas? It attempts to light, sometimes works after a handful of tries but usually will not, I can sometimes light it by hand and it will stay on until it turns off when it reached the heeded temp, then won't relight. model 6052 See more »

If the sparking continues after the flame initially lights and then goes out when the sparking stops, yes. The issue would be with the ignition control board that the sparker connects to.

I believe that you're referring to the power board, not the ignition control board. As for this ignition board, it does not need to look identical to what you have. It does fit all 600 and 6000 series Norcold refrigerators, regardless of serial number. If you have an older model, it's likely that it will not look identical. Below is a link to the power board for this model:

I need to determine if my igniter is sparking. I need to know the pin out on the module connector to bench test the module before I decide if a replacement igniter is necessary. See more »

When the temperature gets to the "slider" setting the flame goes out and doesn't re light. Still no "clicking" I can lower the slider setting and then manually re light and the flame goes out again when That temp is reached. I have new batteries in coach and engine. Wondering if the ignition control is needing replacement See more »

I switch the fridge to Gas, no clicking sound. then Red X. I switch to off, then on and manually light and the fridge will reach the slider setting then flame turns off. Lower the slider control and manually re light and flame stays on until temp is reached and then flame goes out. No clicking sound indicating startup. I have new batteries in coach and chassis. New alternator in chassis. Propane tank is full. Fuses test fine, power to the J4 and J3 is 12.3Volts. Just doesn't light up automatically. Thank you for your consideration See more »

I'm not sure if my fridge has a faulty module or faulty electrode. It successfully lights the burner, but fails to detect the flame and locks the gas out. I'd prefer to change both. See more »

I have replaced the eyebrow and control board 3 years ago and the ignite cable 2 weeks ago. Any suggestions as to what I should look at? See more »

I have a Norcold 6000 series (6162). Replaced the igniter and burner. Gas comes on and lights. Flame looks good but spark does not turn off. I think it is a bad control module 61717037. Sound correct? How do you get it out? Do you have to
have to remove cover first? Thanks Craig See more »
