Description
Dometic Refrigerator Spark Electrode 2930379009
This genuine Dometic spark electrode, part number 2930379009, is the LP gas igniter electrode for older Dometic RM-series absorption refrigerators, including the RM2452 and RM2453. It's also listed for the RM2350, RM2355, RM2455, RM2553, RM2555, RM4601, RM4605 and RGE400/RGE410.
What it does
When the refrigerator runs on propane, the igniter sends a high-voltage pulse to the electrode. The electrode sparks to the burner to light the gas. A cracked ceramic insulator, a corroded tip or the wrong spark gap will stop the burner from lighting reliably.
Signs your electrode may need replacing
- Clicking or sparking in gas mode, but the burner won't light
- No visible spark at the burner
- A cracked or chipped white ceramic insulator
- A burned or heavily corroded electrode tip
Please note
Electrode only. The ignition cable (high-tension lead) and burner are not included. Reuse your existing lead if it's in good condition.
Installation tips
- Turn off the refrigerator and the LP supply and let the burner cool.
- Disconnect the ignition lead and remove the old electrode from its bracket at the burner.
- Install the new electrode in the same position and set the spark gap to the burner as specified in your service manual.
- Reconnect the lead, keeping it away from hot surfaces. Tools: screwdriver or nut driver. Takes about 15–30 minutes.
