Dometic Refrigerator Spark Electrode with Lead 2932781012

This genuine Dometic spark electrode with an attached high-tension lead (conductor), part number 2932781012, is the igniter for LP gas operation on many Dometic absorption refrigerators. It fits most Dometic models where the high-tension lead is permanently attached to the electrode, including the DM/RM 2652, 2662, 2852 and 2862 families, NDR1062, and many RM23xx–RM39xx models.

What it does

In LP (propane) mode, the control board sends high-voltage pulses down the lead to the electrode. The electrode sparks across to the burner and lights the gas. If the electrode is cracked, worn or out of position, the burner won't light reliably.

Signs your electrode may need replacing

• You hear clicking in gas mode, but the burner won't light
• A "Check" light or LP fault code after several ignition attempts
• The flame lights and then drops out
• The ceramic insulator is cracked, or the lead is burned or brittle
• No spark at the burner, even though the board is clicking

Installation tips

• Turn the refrigerator off, shut off the LP supply and let the burner area cool.
• Unplug the high-tension lead from the control board/igniter and remove the electrode from its bracket at the burner.
• Install the new electrode in the same position. The spark gap to the burner must match the original. Check your model's service manual for the specified gap (typically about 1/8"–3/16").
• Route the lead away from hot surfaces and plug it back in.
• Tools: screwdriver or nut driver. Takes about 15–30 minutes, through the exterior refrigerator access vent.

FAQ

My fridge clicks but won't light on propane. Is it the electrode?
It may be. A cracked electrode or the wrong spark gap are common causes. A blocked burner orifice, an empty LP tank or air in the line can cause the same symptom, so check those too.
