Current and Discontinued Norcold Refrigerators: Complete Replacement Guide (2026)
Found out your Norcold is discontinued? You're not stuck. Almost every older Norcold has a current model built for the same opening, or one that fits with minor trim work. This guide shows the current lineup and matches each discontinued model to its replacement, both propane and 12V DC.

Current Norcold Refrigerators
Norcold builds two kinds of refrigerators today: gas absorption models that run on propane and 120V AC, and 12V DC compressor models that run off your house batteries.
Propane (Gas Absorption) Models
Very low battery draw and weeks on a tank of propane. The best fit for boondocking with a small battery bank, and they work like the fridge you have now.

Discontinued Norcold Refrigerators and Their Replacements
Small Propane Models: N4141, N3150, N300 Series
Discontinued models: N4141, N3150, N3150A, N300, N302, N305, N306
Stay with propane: The N4150 superseded the N3150 and is the go-to for the N4141. It runs 3-way (LP, 120V AC and 12V DC).
Switch to 12V DC: The N2175 is nearly the same size as the N4150 (49.2" × 20.7" cutout). The N300 series is smaller than the N4150; the DC105 is the closest match in size.
6 Cubic Foot Models: N6 Series
Discontinued models: N611, N611V, N621, N621V, N622, N641, N642, N643, NX641, NXA641, 662, 6162, 962, 9162
Stay with propane: The N7X is the direct successor. More room, updated controls, same 52-7/8" × 23-1/2" × 24" cutout.
Switch to 12V DC: The N8DC uses the same 52-7/8" × 23-1/2" × 24" cutout as the N7X, so you get 8 cu. ft. and compressor cooling in the same space.
8 Cubic Foot Models: N8 Series
Discontinued models: N811, N811V, N821, N821V, N822, N841, N842, N843, NX841, NXA841, 682, 6182, 982, 9182
Stay with propane: The N8X replaces the N8 family with a 59-7/8" × 23-1/2" × 24" cutout and updated electronics.
Switch to 12V DC: The N10DC shares that same 59-7/8" × 23-1/2" × 24" cutout and adds 2 cu. ft. of space.
N1095 Series
1200 and 1210 Series
Discontinued models: 1200, 1200LR, 1200IM, 1201, 1210, 1210IM, 1211
The N15DCSS replaces the four-door 1200/1210 family. There is no current propane equivalent.
You get more usable storage, faster cooling, steadier temperatures and a stronger freezer, with no absorption cooling unit to fail. Ice maker version available.
2117 and 2118 Series
Discontinued models: 2117, 2117IM, 2118, 2118IM
The N20DCSS is the modern replacement for these large residential-style units. It has 19 cu. ft. of storage and holds temperature well in hot weather. Ice maker version available.

Propane vs. 12V DC: Which Should You Choose?

Most RV manufacturers have moved to 12V DC refrigerators. If you already have lithium batteries and solar, DC is usually the better upgrade. If you camp off-grid for long stretches with a small battery bank, propane still makes sense.
Before You Order
- Find your model number. It's on the sticker inside the fresh food compartment.
- Measure the opening, not the old fridge: height, width and depth, at more than one point.
- Check the door swing. Most current models hinge on the right and can be reversed.
- Switching to DC? Plan for heavy-gauge 12V wiring to the battery and have the gas line capped by a qualified tech.
- Check door panels. Some models ship without decorative panels, which are sold separately.
