Norcold N7X/ N8X Flashing Four Times/ AC Heater Relay Fault (quick fix!)

FLASH PATTERN 4

Norcold N7X / N8X AC Heater Relay Fault

The red light flashes four times, goes off for 5 seconds and repeats. The relay on the main control board (power board assembly) that switches the AC heater is stuck closed, so the board can’t turn the heater off. The fix is a new power board.

Before you start

  • Note the code. Count the flashes twice to be sure it’s 4 and not 3 or 5. Those point to different faults.
  • Stay safe. Turn the fridge OFF and unplug it from 120V and 12V before removing the board.

STEP 1

Reset the fridge once

Turn the fridge OFF, then back ON. This clears the code so you can see if it comes back.

Does the 4-flash code come back?

Solved for now

The code cleared. If 4 flashes return, the relay is sticking again. Replace the board.

Replace the power board

The AC heater relay is part of the main control board (power board assembly). Norcold’s fix for this code is a new board.
