Norcold N6XX / N8XX AC HI Code (AC Voltage High)
AC HI
Norcold N6XX / N8XX AC HI Code (AC Voltage High)
The fridge is getting more than 132 volts AC. High voltage can damage the heater and board. It usually comes from the power source: a miswired pedestal, generator or inverter.
Before you start
- Where things are. The power board, fuses and burner are behind the lower outside vent, under a cover on the back of the fridge. The optical control (display) assembly is in the front box at the top.
- Note the power source. Check whether the code shows up only on one source: generator, shore power or inverter.

STEP 1
Measure AC at the power board
Measure AC volts where the power cord connects to the power board.
Is it higher than 132 volts AC?
Fix the AC supply
The RV’s AC source or wiring is putting out too much voltage. Unplug until it’s fixed. A surge protector with voltage protection cuts power before high voltage reaches your appliances.
Progressive Industries EMS-PT30X →30A portable EMS. Guards against voltage swings, surges and miswired pedestals.
Hughes Watchdog Gen II 30A →Bluetooth surge protector with on-screen error codes.Replace the power board
The voltage is fine, so the board is misreading it.
