Norcold RV Refrigerator Showing "SR" Code, Not Cooling - RV Fridge Guys

Posted on

The code is SR and it means "flame sense circuit failure" which basically means that the board isn't sensing the flame and then times out after 30 seconds of sparking. If this is the problem then you should be able to physically see the flame as your electrode is sparking. When this is functioning correctly the sparking stops once the flame is lit.

The other thing that could cause this code is called AC Ripple or "dirty DC" and would signal a problem with your converter. There are always AC millivolts that will leak over to your DC side when you have the refrigerator plugged in but sometimes the converter has issues filtering out the voltage and you could get more. Anything over 0.5VAC on your DC line simply means you need a new converter and that there is nothing wrong with the refrigerator.

Simply said, if you connect your refrigerator to an independent 12V battery and it does the same thing, replace your Power Board. If the code goes away, replace your Converter. Good thing is we have all the Norcold boards on this store and in stock!
