Norcold 2118 AC rE Code (AC Relay Stuck Closed)
The contacts of relay K2 on the power board, which switch the AC heaters, are stuck closed. The heaters could stay on. This code can show in any mode.
Before you start
- Where things are. The power board, fuses, burner, gas valve and the Temperature Monitor Control (TMC) are behind the lower outside vent. The display and buttons are at the top front of the fridge.
Fits these models
The Norcold 2118 four-door, 2-way (120V AC and propane) refrigerator, including the IM (ice maker) and IMD (ice maker and dispenser) versions.
What you’ll see
AC then rE. The code alternates between its two halves while the alarm beeps.
STEP 1
Turn it off and unplug it
Turn the fridge off and unplug the AC cord so the heaters can’t stay on.
Replace the power board
The stuck relay is part of the power board. It’s behind the lower outside vent, under a cover on the back of the fridge. Ask a tech if you’re not sure it’s the board.
