Norcold 2118 Sr Code (Power Board Fault)
The power board found an internal fault. Sometimes it’s a short in the spark or gas valve circuit. This code can show in any mode.
Before you start
- Where things are. The power board, fuses, burner, gas valve and the Temperature Monitor Control (TMC) are behind the lower outside vent. The display and buttons are at the top front of the fridge.

The Norcold 2118 four-door, 2-way (120V AC and propane) refrigerator, including the IM (ice maker) and IMD (ice maker and dispenser) versions.
What you’ll see
Sr on the display with the alarm beeping.
STEP 1
Reset it
Turn the fridge off, then back on.
Does Sr come back?
Fixed
Keep an eye on it.
STEP 2
Check for a short
Check that the spark-sense electrode isn’t touching the burner, and that the wire from power board P1-10 (12V out to the gas valve) isn’t pinched or shorted to ground anywhere.
Did you find a short?
Fix it
Reposition the electrode or repair the wire, then reset.
Replace the power board
Nothing outside the board is shorted. It’s behind the lower outside vent, under a cover on the back of the fridge. Ask a tech if you’re not sure it’s the board.
