The power board sees less than 85 volts AC. On its own this shows only in MANUAL AC mode. In AUTO, the fridge switches to propane instead.
Before you start
- Good voltage is 10.5 to 15.4 volts DC for the controls and 108 to 132 volts AC for the heaters.
- Where things are. The power board, fuses, burner, gas valve and the Temperature Monitor Control (TMC) are behind the lower outside vent. The display and buttons are at the top front of the fridge.
- Diagnostic mode can confirm it: hold MODE and TEMP SET together until screen 1 appears, then press MODE to step through the screens.

The Norcold 2118 four-door, 2-way (120V AC and propane) refrigerator, including the IM (ice maker) and IMD (ice maker and dispenser) versions.
What you’ll see
no then AC, with the manual AC icon lit. The code alternates between its two halves while the alarm beeps.
STEP 1
Check the outlet
Measure AC volts at the outlet the fridge plugs into, behind the lower vent.
Is it at least 108 volts?
Fix the RV’s AC power
Check shore power or the generator, the breaker, any GFCI and the inverter. Don’t use an extension cord.
STEP 2
Check the power cord
Look over the fridge’s power cord and plug. It must not touch the burner cover or flue.
Is the cord in good condition?
Replace the cord
A damaged cord can’t deliver full voltage.
STEP 3
Check fuse F2
Check the glass 8A fuse (F2) on the power board, and that its holder clips are tight and not broken.
Are the fuse and clips good?
Replace the fuse
Use an AGC 8A fast-acting glass fuse (1/4 x 1-1/4 inch). Broken clips mean the power board needs replacing.
Replace the power board
AC reaches the board but it can’t use it. It’s behind the lower outside vent, under a cover on the back of the fridge. Ask a tech if you’re not sure it’s the board.
