Furrion Arctic 8 and 10 Sweating or Rust on the Outside
INTERMITTENT
Furrion Arctic 8 and 10 Shuts Off or Runs Intermittently (No Flash Code)
The fridge cuts in and out, or won’t start, but the test LED shows no flash code. Check for loose connections, then the thermostat, then whether the RV’s wiring is letting voltage drop when the compressor starts.
Before you start
- Pull it out first. Most of these tests need the fridge slid out of its cabinet and the back cover off.
- Good voltage is 12 to 15 volts DC at the fridge. It shuts itself off below 9.6 volts, and the battery should hold at least 10.5 volts under load.
- Voltage drops are common. The fridge shuts off when voltage sags. Undersized or long RV wiring can sag below 11 volts the moment the compressor tries to start.
Fits these models
The Furrion Arctic 8 cu ft (FCR08DCGTA) and 10 cu ft (FCR10DCGTA) 12V compressor refrigerators, in every door finish and hinge side. The second number under each model is its Lippert part number.
STEP 1
Check for loose connections
Pull the fridge out, remove the back cover and find the inverter board on the compressor. Tug each wire to check it’s tight, and look for black marks where a connection got hot.
Did you find a problem?
Fix it
Repair or replace the loose or burnt connection.
STEP 2
Bypass the thermostat
Unplug the two thermostat wires from terminals C and T on the inverter board and jumper C to T. Wait up to 5 minutes.
Does the fridge start running?
Replace the thermostat
It runs with the thermostat bypassed. Remove the jumper afterward. It’s the spark-free thermostat behind the temperature dial.

Do a voltage dropout test
Remove the jumper and reconnect the thermostat. With your meter on the board’s + and − terminals: disconnect all power (meter reads 0), wait 3 minutes, reconnect, and watch the voltage for 5 minutes. The compressor may rattle and the fan may come on, but the compressor won’t start.
Did the voltage drop below 11 volts?
STEP 4
Repeat it at the power connection
Repeat the dropout test, but measure at the fridge’s power connection instead of the board.
Does it drop below 11 volts there too?
The RV supply can’t hold voltage
Voltage is sagging before it reaches the fridge and tripping the low-voltage shutoff. Check fuses, wire gauge, wire length and the power source. See your owner’s manual for wire sizing, or contact the RV manufacturer.

Victron SmartShunt Battery Monitor →Shows battery voltage on your phone, so you spot overcharging early.STEP 5
Try a direct power source
Connect the fridge straight to a separate 12V source, ideally an RV converter, with short wire: 14 AWG up to 5 ft, or 12 AWG up to 10 ft. Leave the fridge in the RV. Repeat the dropout test.
Is the fridge running?
The RV wiring is the problem
On a short, direct supply it works, so the RV’s wiring is dropping voltage. Check fuses, wire gauge, length and connections.

Victron SmartShunt Battery Monitor →Shows battery voltage on your phone, so you spot overcharging early.STEP 6
Check the fridge’s own wiring
If you haven’t yet, do the continuity, polarity and short checks in No Power (Steps 6 to 8).
Is the fridge running now?
Repair complete
The fridge is running normally again.
Replace the inverter board
Most likely the inverter board or its compressor connection. If it still won’t run with a new board, the unit needs replacing. It’s the compressor control board mounted on the compressor behind the back cover.
