Furrion Arctic 8 and 10 Compressor Won’t Run: Lockout and Hard Reset
The light comes on, but the fridge isn’t cooling and the compressor isn’t running. Often the control has locked itself out after a voltage problem, and a proper reset brings it back.
Before you start
- Is it running? The compressor hums and the fan blows warm air out of the right side of the front vent. With a DC clamp meter, a running fridge draws more than 1 amp on the + or − supply wire.
- Good voltage is 12 to 15 volts DC at the fridge. It shuts itself off below 9.6 volts, and the battery should hold at least 10.5 volts under load.
- No light at all? Start with No Power instead.
Fits these models
The Furrion Arctic 8 cu ft (FCR08DCGTA) and 10 cu ft (FCR10DCGTA) 12V compressor refrigerators, in every door finish and hinge side. The second number under each model is its Lippert part number.
STEP 1
Check the dial
Open the door and look at the temperature dial on the control panel.
Is it set to OFF?
Turn it on
Set the dial to 4 or 5 and wait 2 hours. Still warm? Go to Not Cooling.
STEP 2
Cycle the dial
Make sure the fridge has had power for at least 15 minutes. Turn the dial to OFF for 5 minutes, then back on.
Is it running now?
Fixed
It was locked out. If it keeps happening, see Runs Intermittently.
STEP 3
Do a hard reset
Hard reset: disconnect every power source to the RV fridge circuit (converter, battery, solar), wait, then reconnect and let it sit 5 to 10 minutes before you turn it on.
Is it running now?
Fixed
Furrion notes that storing or running the fridge improperly can trigger lockouts; follow the storage steps in your owner’s manual.
STEP 4
Try a direct power source
Disconnect power at the fridge and wait 5 minutes. Connect the fridge straight to a separate 12V source, ideally an RV converter, with short wire: 14 AWG up to 5 ft, or 12 AWG up to 10 ft. Leave the fridge in the RV.
Is it running now?
The RV wiring is dropping voltage
The fridge works on clean power, so the RV’s wiring or supply can’t hold voltage when the compressor starts. Do the voltage dropout test in Runs Intermittently.
Victron Lithium SuperPack 12.8V 100Ah →LiFePO4 holds near 13 volts through most of its charge. Built-in BMS.
Victron SmartShunt Battery Monitor →Shows battery voltage on your phone, so you spot overcharging early.STEP 5
Read the flash code
Hook a test LED to the inverter board (see the guide for how) and power it up for 5 minutes.
Is it flashing a code?
Check connections and the thermostat
No code usually points to a loose connection or the thermostat. Go to Runs Intermittently, which includes a thermostat bypass test.
Still stuck? ask a tech with your model, serial number and the readings you got. We’ll confirm the part before you order.
